Hi! I'm Jolisa Castell, LCSW, CCTP, a licensed clinical social worker with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Bethune Cookman University and a Master's degree in Social Work from Barry University.

Being born and raised in Denver, CO, I come from a big blended military family, which has instilled in me a deep passion for working with children and their families. My goal is to provide them with unwavering dedication, support, and the necessary skills and resources to address their needs.

Throughout my career, I have gained extensive experience working with diverse youth and their families in various settings. I incorporate a wide range of techniques and skills from therapeutic modalities, specializing in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Trauma-Informed therapy, Play Therapy, EMDR, mindfulness, and relaxation.

My utmost dedication is to create a safe environment of compassion and support for individuals and their families. I believe in helping them overcome obstacles and empowering them to move forward and thrive.

Play Therapy

Play therapy provides a safe and comfortable environment for children to play freely, facilitating expression and problem-solving to support healthy brain development.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a talk therapy technique aimed at raising awareness of negative thoughts to improve coping skills, beneficial for managing stress and mental health disorders, often provided in structured sessions and combined with other treatments when needed.

Mindfulness-based Therapy

Mindfulness is about focusing on the present moment through practices like meditation, teaching us to be fully present with our thoughts and emotions, making them more manageable and reducing the impact of negative thinking.

Trauma Informed Therapy

Trauma is a distressing event that can lead to severe anxiety, nightmares, and avoidance behaviors, but with time and support, individuals can recover through trauma therapy, which aims to alleviate symptoms, teach coping skills, and rebuild self-esteem.

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)

EMDR uses eye movements to reduce the intensity of traumatic memories and is effective for PTSD, trauma, panic attacks, eating disorders, and anxiety, with sessions lasting up to 90 minutes, focusing on guiding clients from distressing memories to comforting thoughts.

Wonderful clients

Here are some kind words we have received from happy clients around the globe.

"Therapy is a fantastic way to learn about yourself..."
"After meeting with Jolisa and experiencing therapy, I spend a lot more time thinking about my actions constructively, rather than beating myself up.  Therapy is a fantastic way to learn about yourself and navigate the more difficult aspects of life. I have had a great experience with therapy so far, and it has helped me grow mentally as a person."
"I have grown so much when expressing myself and being open..."
"I have gained many things during therapy despite my inconsistency, however, I feel that I have grown so much when expressing myself and being open therapy. Also, I am beginning to see growth within myself with identifying my triggers and what I need to work on.  I would recommend therapy to other because it is helpful."
"I feel more confident in my decisions..."
"Meeting with my therapist has allowed me to feel more confident in my decisions.  I would recommend her to others."
"Your unbiased support has made me see things from a whole new perspective."
